It’s very hard to look good every day, especially on days YOU DON’T FEEL GOOD AT ALL. In our busy schedules, it gets extremely hard to look ‘put together’. but you are in the correct place to find out what you need to do weekly or monthly to look good every day.
The first thing we should put on our minds is that:
It’s not bad to improve our looks!
I say this because there is so much information and so many misconceptions that something as simple as improving your looks, can be misinterpreted by the ones close to us.
- No, it’s not to seek attention
- No, it’s not to show I am better than anyone
- No, I am not rich
I am a true believer that if you want the best, you NEED to be the best!
When you feel good about yourself, what you wearing, and the person you are, this opens different doors and your perspective of life. You deal with life differently!
For us to be looking good every day, we need to have a maintenance routine.
Unfortunately, I am not the type of person who wakes up and looks like a queen, but when we maintain our routine and make sure we do what needs to be done monthly or weekly for us to look good every day, then it’s easier to accomplish this throughout the weeks.
So here are a few things you need to have to look good:
1. Do your Nails
I am not someone who is consistently doing my nails, but a few months back, I started to invest in this.
Having my nails done, something so small, but truly reconnects me with my feminine side. The whole process of looking for the best set, going to the nail salon, and having your nails done beautifully, is something we should invest in.
You might not go to a nail salon, but at least have your small set at home, where you will be able to take care of your nails once a week or you can opt to have a set of press-ons. They are very affordable and very easy to maintain.
2. 2Litres of Water
Water is essential in our lives, but is also something that the majority neglect. I had someone I know who was not able to drink 2L a day, however, he decided to challenge himself by drinking 2L of water every day for 1 year.
The photo of him before this challenge and after? WOOOOOOW!
It’s not that his face changed or anything, everything continued the same, but there was a different glow – ALL BECAUSE OF WATER!
Benefits of Water:
The Immune System:
By drinking water you help your immune system transport nutrients to the cells and help the body take out toxins that can weaken our immune system.
Skin Health:
Drinking water throughout the day keeps our skin hydrated and moisturized, which helps with our skin routine reducing wrinkles and promoting that natural glow.
Weight Loss:
Yes, drinking water can also help you if you are on a journey to lose weight. Sometimes our body signals to us that we are hungry, but it’s only a lack of water. Water helps control appetite by making us feel full.
So yeah, let’s all start drinking! HAHAHA
3. Makeup
If you are someone like me, that don’t like to put anything on their face, you will hate this! but hear me out.
Makeup, in a nutshell, does make you look good, there is no lie about it, we all know it!
But you might not have the time to do a full makeup routine every single morning (at least I don’t!). So make it simple, look for simple routines you can implement that will take 5 minutes of your morning.
Don’t be focused on doing ‘’heavy makeup’’ if you are just preparing yourself for uni, school, or work. Do something simple and very light because most of the time, that is THE BEST MAKEUP.
Always carry with you a lipgloss! Believe it or not, lipglosses are the best in making us look hydrated. Your lips cannot be flaky, looking dry, and not hydrated! No, No, No! Use a lip gloss ALWAYS.
4. Hairstyles
Now picture this with me:
You have your nails done, and your simple makeup on point, but your hair looks a mess – forget about looking good.
And no, I am not saying for you to be there for 1 hour to make your hair, but there are many hairstyles you can find on social media that will just give you that clean girl vibes.
Have at least 5 hairstyles you can do in the blink of an eye, and just do them in your daily routine. See which one is more appropriate for the type of clothes you are wearing.
If you work on these 3 things, you will look put together ALREADY!
5. Exercise
Exercise can be the hardest thing for you to get used to, if you are not physically active, however, once you start and maintain that, it will become second nature to you.
Exercise is good in general, but will also allow you to improve your posture. You don’t need to go over the moon with scheduling your time to exercise, even doing it once a week can change everything.
Nowadays you can even exercise from home! So there is no excuse!
6. Jewelry
Having jewelry makes you look good.
There is no way you can go wrong with everyday jewelry. Is one of those things even though people don’t notice as much, just the fact of being there, complements the whole outfit.
You don’t need to spend too much money to have your daily jewelry, just make sure that whatever jewelry you buy will not crust with time.
You want to be able to have jewelry that will last (an eternity if possible). Have different varieties were you will be able to change depending on your outfits; earrings, rings, necklaces, etc.
H&M is a good place for you to go in search of jewelry, they do have some good options.
7. Neutral Colors
Believe me, color changes everything. Style as well, but that’s for another blog post.
Using neutral colors does give the impression you are put together.
Even though not everyone is into neutral color styles, incorporating more neutral colors into your wardrobe makes it easier to prepare your outfits and they look much more intentional.
Instead of using a bright pink, the option would be a pastel pink. It would look more classy and more put together.
Note: This is not to say you cannot use brighter colors, because you can.
However, it’s easier to make a classy outfit with neutral colors, so have a few pieces in your wardrobe.
