Reviewing 5 Viral Skin Care Products

Reviewing 5 Viral Skin Care Products

I am sure you will be like me, that every time I see a new viral skin care product on social media, I want to buy it straight away!

However, on the other side, I do get apprehensive as I don’t like to add anything to my skin. I used to be the type of person that would put anything on my skin, and on the next day wake up with my layer of skin irritated or pimples that I did not know where they were coming from (Now I know: the products I was using).

And one might say:

'' but Claudia, how do you know it was the product, and not other circumstances?''

When you know your skin, you fully know when something is wrong. I am the type of person that has a very simple skin routine, I keep everything to basics, and that has not changed now.

But back then, in some products I used to try, I used to get a reaction. So imagine, you have the same skin routine for months, and your skin is actually improving, but now you buy a new product that you start using and CAPOM!

You’re skin starts acting dodgy ?! hummmmm…

Once I was more informed of the cares you have to include in your skin routine, and the way you can’t be deceived by the marketing, I never experienced such reactions.

So I am going to share and rate some of the viral product online:

Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm:

Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm

This product is all over social media!
This product feels very sticky, but I believe that’s the whole point of the hype. And by the smell of it without looking at the product list, it has fragrance.

The fragrance is very strong, so I would avoid it if you have sensitive skin.

For those who use makeup daily, and want to use this product, you might have to add micellar water to help you in the process, if it does not fully remove your makeup.

Ingredients on this product:

  • Sweet Almond Oil – This is comedogenic for some people. This means that if you have oily, acne-prone skin, avoid this.

Other ingredients this product contains are Lavender Oil, Pelargonium Flower, Eucalyptus Oil, Limonene, etc. All of these are ingredients that have fragrance, and fragrance is normally not good for your skin.

Glow Recipe Watermelon Niacinamide Dew Drops:

Glow Recipe Watermelon Niacinamide Dew Drops

This product has indeed been viral for a very long time; and I have to admit, it was a product I wanted to buy as I show it all over my TikTok page. As soon as you place this product on your skin, you get 100% of the glow it provides.
I algo get the hype around this!

Ingredients on this product:

  • Niacinamide – which is a very good ingredient to have in your skin routine. It is one of your best friends, for oily skin or dry skin.

This product feels very much like it is sitting on the outside skin, as it is very sticky, and I don’t know how I feel about using this the whole day. Niacinamide from the ordinary is still my favorite, as it is fragrance-free.

Glow Recipe Plum Plump Hyaluronic Acid Cream:

Glow Recipe Plum Plump Hyaluronic Acid Cream

This is a very small cream and a very light moisturizer, this might work well if you have acne-prone skin. However, very small for my liking.

Ingredients of this product:

  • Glycerine
  • Squalane
  • Hyaluronic Acid

These are humectants so are very good for the skin as they are water magnets that keep your skin very moisturized.

This would be a good product if they did not add fragrance, if they have a fragrance-free version and make the product bigger, I would be more than excited to give this another try.

RATE: 7/10 (it has future potential!)

Laneige Lip Mask:

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask

I have also seen this all over my TikTok and I have to say – I was very tempted to buy this! You know those times you just want an amazing lip mask for your routine, you go to Amazon, and that’s it! It’s one of the first products it comes to your search, so why not?!

Until I looked at the ingredients…
Nevertheless, it is a very cute lipstick, I cannot lie!

Ingredients of this product:

  • Diisosterol Malate – This is a very good ingredient for your lips.

However, this product has alcohol in it.
Alcohol makes your skin dry fast but also damages the collagen in your skin.

Collagen is what makes your skin look youthful and beautiful, so we will not want that to be damaged, especially on our lip area!

Again, if it was done without alcohol and fragrance-free, I would give a higher rate!

Clinique moisture 100-hour moisture surge:

Clinique moisture 100h-hour moisture surge

This has also been viral for a very long time. It has a very light scent as well and melts very nicely. Also a little bit sticky.

Products used in this skin:

  • Aqua – this normally evaporates from the skin after a little bit and makes your skin feel dry.

This does not have any actives that will possibly help with fine lines or collagen production. Also does not have any vitamins or any minerals.

It’s a very basic moisturizer. I wouldn’t use this moisturizer alone, I will mix it with my Cerave moisturizer.

RATE: 7.5/10 (they have future potential!)
